Bringing Sam to You!

In the event that you don’t live anywhere in or near Vancouver, chances are you missed Sam Bradley’s recent shows there this past weekend.  I had every intention of seeing those two shows, sadly, it did not work out as the twenty two lottery tickets I bought DID NOT win and I found myself without sufficient funds for, oh let’s see–  airfare, hotel, rental car and tickets to the shows.

This made me really sadface as Saturday was a Sam Bradley and The Men show.  I have yet to see him perform with The Men and as of lately with their recent foray into the land of Twitter, I really want to see these guys too– cause they are effing hilar.  Just go check out their tweets. Trust.

But don’t worry…I did eventually “see” them.  And now, you can too! I mean, thank gawd for YouTube and blogger MalicousMandy, right?!  Without which we wouldn’t all get these great vids of the Saturday show at Venue.

MalicousMandy attended Saturday’s show and posted a bunch of vids from that night on her YouTube account.  I’ve posted a few below but you can go check them all out here.

So, what did you think?? Have you had the pleasure of seeing The Men too? Let’s us know!

New Music Monday Featuring Rosi Golan!

NMM Banner

This week’s artist is an Israeli singer/songwriter with a haunting voice! Introducing you to…

Rosi Golan

Rosi Golan

Rosi Golan is an Israeli born singer songwriter who has made many stops in her travels, including Germany, Paris and finally ending up in Los Angeles at the age of nine. During her travels, she not only managed to hone her infectiously melodic songwriting, but also learned to speak five languages: French, Hungarian, German, Hebrew and English.

Rosi is indeed a long way from home, but certainly in the right place to showcase her unique talent for rich, dark melodies and a voice that not only draws you in, but still haunts you the next day.

Those talents are on full display with her Marshall Altman produced debut CD, The Drifter and the Gypsy, which is available for purchase on iTunes.  The 11‐song record has already yielded 13 placements, most recently her song “Think Of Me” in the new Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) film “Dear John, directed by Lasse Halstrom (Cider House Rules, Chocolat). She has also had songs on such shows as One Tree Hill, Private Practice, Doll House, Biggest Loser and Ghost Whisperer. Her song “Shine” is the anthem for the international Pantene campaign and “C’est L’amour” is currently licensed to Chicco Clothing and Stroili Oro with ads in Italy, Portugal and Switzerland.

Marcus Featured in New Movie Trailer, New Blog, New Article

Today, Marcus posted the trailer for the movie $5 A Day, where his song I Don’t Mind is featured prominently at the end. And unlike that “other” movie soundtrack, Marcus is actually singing! Yeah!

This is really amazing news and mad props to Marcus for getting his song on the soundtrack. Another song of Marcus’, Make It Easy, will also be featured in the movie.

Here is what Marcus said about it on his blog:

$5 A Day

hello, I’ve posted up a rough version of the $5 A Day movie trailer, I hope you like it. Unfortunately I don’t think the film is coming out till next year but it’s a great film! I will leave it up for a while, take care,

M.

Here is the movie synopsis, according to IMBD.com:

The conservative son of a thrifty conman begrudgingly joins his father on the road, after years of separation. The son a reformed conman, doesn’t want anything to do with his father. The son also feels he is being conned into joining his father on the road, but soon learns the real reason for this, and the lessons he learns will change his life.

Congrats to Marcus! Keep up the good work!!

And more good news for all of us waiting for Marcus to announce his tour. Marcus left us a little note on his MySpace:

December Tour
hello, I hope everyone is ok? I am currently planning a three week tour in December, the dates should be up in the next week, I hope if I come to America and Canada people will come to the shows?
I have been really busy these last few weeks so after the 2nd of october I can do more music stuff, take care.

Marcus.
As soon as we get our hands on these dates, we will let you all know!! And hey, while you are over here with us in Marcus world, check out this new article about Marcus. It is written so well!!

Pfftt…like we’d lose interest in Marcus!

Today on his twitter account Marcus gave us a couple of updates.  One of them was to inform us of a new song that he added on his myspace….so we wouldn’t lose interest in him.

marcus tweet 9-25

Pshaw! As if we could lose interest in you Marcus! With 6,573 followers (as of this post) you will not be losing fans any time soon.  I mean, I feel like at this point in our “relationship” we are at that “missing you stage.”  And by we, I mean me.  You know, constantly checking your twitter, blip-ing your songs, searching the internet for hours for new pics/vids of you– and I get all the “fuzzies” that come with the anticipation of your return.  I’m not a stalker. What is the saying?? Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Listen, I totes understand– I mean, you are a little busy these days, right?  So concentrate on your thesis and I’ll we’ll be waiting for you when you come back to Dallas the States.

So, head on over to Marcus’ myspace page to check out the new song!

And while you’re on the ol’ interwebs…are you following Marcus on twitter yet?? Well, what are you waiting for?? DO IT!
