New Marcus Article on His American Debut

Last Thursday, Billings Music Examiner, Kimberly Grewell, wrote an article on Marcus’ American debut in Dallas this past July. She had nothing but high praise for him and the show:
He had yet to play a single note, but his stage presence was so intense, the crowd so overwhelmed, and elated to witness what they believed would be the beginning of something great. Whatever the crowd expected, they had it wrong. There is no way to expect that sort of grace and talent in one musician.
She then goes on to point out one of the reasons that I, too, enjoy in watching Marcus live:
Marcus himself has a great gift for songwriting. His many songs include 14 times, I Don’t Mind, You My Love, Circle in the Square and the list goes on and on. All perfectly written and perfectly played. Perfect in the way that he played them in the moment. They felt new and fresh compared to the versions heard via his MySpace or the YouTube videos we have all grown accustomed to watching as we anxiously awaited his arrival.
This is exactly one of the reasons I became an instant Marcus fan. I had heard his music before his shows in Dallas but nothing compares to actually seeing him perform. Both shows were completely different and that is what I love about live music– seeing an artist take their material and present it in a new way because that is what they are feeling at that moment. It makes each show unique and each album listen conjures up memories of “remember that show when he sang it like this?”

Dear Marcus,
I love you. That is all.
<3, Me
I love it! Another Marcus convert! I really, really, really hope he releases his Dec tour dates soon. And I really, really hope that there’s an Atlanta or DC or somewhere I can go on there.
Oh wait. Who am I kidding? If the man performs in the continental US, I’ll be there at least once. lol
Thanks, bbs for the Marcus love! =)
You know what I am watching right now? THIS!
My feelings too, I don’t care where he is in the US, I’m going to at least one show. It is worth that price to see him live!!
Thanks for the article ladies
Meghan
I’ve never wanted it to be December so badly in my whole life. And I live in Minnesota, so that’s saying a lot!!
When you see Marcus live, the song just becomes part of you. It lives in your soul and you feel every emotion he is trying to convey. Marcus, please come back to Dallas soon! We love you!
ditto! come back to Dallas!!
Ahh Marcus!! Who else besides me really wants to see some of his art??
Me! I do! I wonder if he has had any showcases?
MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! Somehow I don’t think I could be very objective about it. I can easily tell you right now I would think it to be the most amazing work I have ever seen
