Bobby Planning a Tour of Europe
Bobby Long Online posted a press release concerning that talks not only about Bobby’s plans for his fall tour here in the
U.S. (which many of you are planning to be at, right?!?), but also that plans are in the works for a European tour starting in January.

Bobby Long will be back in America this week to play CMJ music industry festival in NYC. This show will be the first gig on the second leg of The Dangerous Summer / Fall Tour that Bobby Long embarked upon on the 24th July. The tour has taken in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and the UK and is now set to continue with a further 38 US shows before ending at the Mercury Lounge in NYC on the 19th December.
Bobby Long’s European dates, which have taken place over the last month, have been very successful many shows sold out in just a few days, prompting Long’s manager Phil Taylor to book a more extensive European tour to include the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Austria. These new European dates are set for mid January 2010, and will be announced officially in the next week.
Says Taylor, “We were holding off booking a longer European tour in January, as we have been waiting for confirmation of dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan for that period. Unfortunately these dates were not confirmed in time for our plans, so we have decided that Bobby Long will tour Europe again in January and February before heading back to America for SXSW and another major American and Canadian tour from late March to August.”
“Bobby and I were really looking forward to him playing for the many Australian fans who email us, but I am sorry to say we will have to wait a little longer before getting over there.”
Bobby has been in the studio this week with Liam Watson at Toe Rag Studios in east London. Early rough mixes are sounding very strong and Bobby has clearly gelled with his band. So far five tracks are complete and ready to be mixed.
Tickets for The Dangerous Summer / Fall Tour are selling well in all territories in the US and once again most shows are expected to sell out. Several new shows were added last week and can be seen on Bobby’s myspace at www.myspace.com/musicbobbylong
So while all the deets are worked out, it looks like new dates will be coming very very soon!! We will keep you all up to date as we hear more!!
UPDATE: This always happens to me! Got some confirmation on dates for Europe! The February dates should be up very soon!

The Fandom Gives Back!
When Amber and I started SoS back in a few months ago, our main goal was to help spread the word about these three musicians that we came to adore one crazy weekend in July. One of our “rules” was to try and limit the amount of “Twilight” talk here as we wanted to help people see them as more than “those guys who wrote that song in that movie.” That being said, we are breaking our rule for a while– but we think its defs for a good cause.
Shack of Soul has now become an affiliate with the group, Twilight Fandom Gives Back. The Fandom, is a group of Twilighters that are coming together to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade. What is Alex’s Lemonade??? Well, we’re glad you asked! Read on to find out!
Dear friends, fans, and followers,
Did you know that every year over 200,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer? We cannot ignore this shocking statistic impacting the youth of the world, and we certainly hope that you won’t either. We need your help.
Starting Nov. 15th, through Nov. 20th, you will have the opportunity to help in the fight against childhood cancer. We haven’t set a monetary goal because we’re firm in the belief that no matter what we set, you will surpass it.
Running this virtual stand is the biggest challenge we have ever faced – the challenge of raising awareness of just how serious the epidemic of childhood cancer is.The money raised will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, a 501(c)3 public charity, to fund childhood cancer research projects. The mission of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily to support research into new cures and treatments; to encourage and educate others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own lemonade stands; and to expedite the process of finding new cures and treatments, and bringing them to children with cancer now.

Bobby Long at the Bitter End! SWEET!
Mad props to Christine for getting some killer video of Bobby over the weekend during his performance at the Bitter End in NYC. She got not just 1 or 2, but 7 videos to share with us! You rock girlie!!

This past Thursday, Bobby Long was back in the States, performing at the Canal Room in NYC. The performance was part of the CMJ Fest, which is basically a 5 day industry showcase for both musicians and moviemakers. Of course, being the stalker good little blogger that I am, I immediately went searching on Friday for any videos of his performance– only to come up short. I figured someone out there somewhere had to video at least one song, right?!
As luck would have it someone did! Our twitter friend, @Pattinson411, tweeted us a link to chococatny’s YouTube account, where they posted two videos of Bobby’s performance Thursday.
