The ‘OMG The Sam Bradley Band Starts The Minor Tour This Week” Post-a-Polooza – Day 1: Facepalm
In honor of the beginning of Sam’s tour (a headlining one at that!), we thought it may be fun to take a little trip down memory lane. Re-experience the awesomeness that always happens when you attend a Sam Bradley concert. Over the next few days, to gear up for the start of the tour which I KNOW all of you are jazzed about, LiLi and I will each pick a topic of the day and one of our favorite memories that fits that topic.
Today, our topic of choice….
Facepalm Moments
I think what makes all these moments all the more awkward, embarrassing and downright hilarious is the fact that Sam forgets nothing. NOTHING. It threw me for a loop when I finally realized that. I mean, hell, he recognized me from Facebook and Twitter before we ever met. Scary, right?

2010 — So Much Epicness and Awesomeness Squeezed into 365 Days!
Wow. Has it really been a whole year already? I was taking a shower this morning (feel free to picture me naked) when it hit me… we totally need a year in review for the blog. Cause it’s been kind of an amazing year for us. I mean, if we’d have had the pleasure of seeing Marcus perform just one time, the year would have been perfect. But it’s cool.
So after much researching through our old blog posts and the forum (duh, join it. now.), I present you with…hold on to your short pants and ball cap… our top 5 awesomely awesome moments from the past year.
1. Stalking Seeing Sam. Twice. In One Year.
For us, it’s really a rarity that we get to see concerts in general. And to see Sam, well that can be even more difficult. But through major luck and amazingly generous people, we got to see Sam in concert TWICE this year!
LiLi and I just so happened to be going to L.A. already for our Esplice Accountability Group our book club meeting, so when we heard Sam would be there as well, it was like fate. And srsly, Sam should thank us cause we brought ourselves and 30 of our closest friends to revel in the eye-effing. Add in my pre-gaming with Jason Segal, drunken shenanigans and the fact that I thought Two Shoes and John Notto were the same person, and you have one epicly amazing time!
Where we conquer LA. And Amber gets drunk. I blame Jason Segel.

Once upon a time, LiLi and Amber packed up their little bags (well, mine was little…Amber’s could hold a small child) and flew out West to have some girly time and see one Mr. Sam Bradley at the Hotel Cafe. In case you didn’t know, Sam is playing there every Tuesday until July 13th– so if you are in the area, go check him out. And then send us pics. Word.
Now, if you know Amber or I, or hell, if you have even read one post of this here little blog, then you know that we don’t take things too seriously ’round here. That’s just us. I mean, yes, we like to give the news on the guys but we can’t help but add in our own thoughts to things. So, if you are looking for a specific-music-theory-analysis-complete-with-set-lists then sorry….this isn’t it. What it is though, is a re-telling of two fangirls’ trip to see someone that they really like. Hell, we should like him. We blog about him. But I digress….

We’re taking this show on the road!
This past Wednesday, Sam announced, via his twitter account, that he will be preforming FOUR shows in LA this coming June and July. And guess who has two thumbs and will be there? THIS GIRL! And Amber. So, I guess that makes it four thumbs? Huh. Well, whatevs, point is….we’re taking this show on the road!
The four shows will all be at the Hotel Cafe on the following dates:
June 22nd buy tickets
June 29th buy tickets
July 6th buy tickets
July 13th buy tickets
We have plans to be at the June 29th show and we anticipate a supa good time (DUH), since we had a blast the last time we saw Sam (with The Men). I mean, check out the happiness:
How can we NOT replicate all this joy in LA? I don’t know whether The Men will be accompanying Mr. Bradley on this particular trip, BUT if they are, well, we have gone ahead and put together a little tour guide for them. I mean, we aren’t LA natives at all, so obviously we are qualified to point out the hot spots. And since we are super nice, we will even offer to personally escort them to our “Must See” sights.
First, Malibu.
You can’t go to LA and not go to the beach. So here we are, laughing it up in front of Amber and I’s rented beach house.
Next on our LA tour of fun:
In-n-Out Burger
All that frolicking in the sand will work up an appetite, so where else would we go but the ol’ In-n-Out?!
After we scarf down our Animal Style burgs we continue the festivities with a trip to:
The Santa Monica Pier
Where we will all try our hand at the Flying Trapeze classes they got going there. Of course, we will also ride the rides, play all the arcade games (6th grade Skee-ball champ, right here, yo!) and overload on some churros from the Churro Man.
After all of that, we will need a place to wind it all down. And what better place than:
The Waffle House!
I mean, if you want to get all technical and stuff, there actually isn’t a Waffle House in LA. Or all of California. But that is neither here nor there, yanno? We can make it happen.

Saturday Morning Concert: Bobby Long
This Saturday morning, Li Li would like to give you some Bobby Long to wake up to. This is a double edge sword for me though, as these vids are from Bobby’s recent show in Dallas at Poor David’s Pub. Yes, the very show that I had tickets to, since October mind you, and then at the 11th hour– BAM– had to work. I may or may not still be a little Bitter Betty about it. Especially when I hear from all my friends that got to go how great it was…..and from watching these vids and seeing for myself what I missed. But, no more of my sad story, yeah? Let’s get to the goods. And by goods I mean Bobby’s amazing hair voice.

This last vid isn’t from Bobby’s Dallas show, but I couldn’t resist adding it because he is playing a steel guitar. Um, yeah. ::DIED:: There’s just something about that slide that does something to for me.
